Vision and purpose
Our vision is a strong, trusted financial sector which treats consumers and investors fairly and honestly.
At the FMA we’re here to support New Zealand’s economic prosperity. We do this by driving the financial sector to do the right thing by their customers.
It’s a big ambition but it’s fundamental to building trust and confidence in a strong financial sector.
Our overarching strategic intention is to promote fair, efficient and transparent financial markets. Our Statement of Intent provides more detail about our strategic priorities, how we will manage our functions and operations to achieve our intentions, and how we will report our progress.
